SEPTEMBER 2011 GROUND RULES: 1. You do NOT need to be a member of any association to enter ANY of our classes. 2. PRE-ENTER & AVOID LATE FEES. Postmark date is AUGUST 24, 2011. Draw to be posted SEPTEMBER 1. ONE TIME LATE FEE OF $20 will be charged to all OPEN 4D entries. No late fees in smaller classes. 3. Western dress code required for all classes except practice runs (hat or helmet, long sleeve shirt and boots or heels down). Professional photographer & many of our sponsors will be on site. 4. Spin3 Productions reserves the right to deny any entry. 5. All entries and fees taken at the race are CASH ONLY! LATE POSTMARK=LATE ENTRY. 6. Please keep all dogs on a leash as per facility regulations. 7. No Alcoholic Beverages. 8. Race will be paid on half second splits. Contestants will receive a no-time for knocking over a barrel or breaking the pattern. No schooling on the pattern. 9. We will offer Riding Sessions in addition to Practice Runs. FIRST COME FIRST SERVE. YOU MAY RESERVE THEM VIA THE PRE ENTRY FORM OR ON E-mail bonnie.wheatley@mac.com or call 719.338.5263. On site exhibitions available by purchasing tickets at the office, first come first serve $5/each. For those unfamiliar with Ride Times, there are 10 horses allowed per session & they are $10/per horse for 20 minutes. Session times are listed on the the Entry Flyer. If riding sessions aren’t completely sold out ahead they can also be purchased at the gate, cash only. If we are out of time and you still have not taken an exhibition run, we’ll offer a few after the race too. 10. EVERYONE entered in a class must write their horse’s registered name on the entry blank. If your horse is not registered, just enter the name you call him. This is critical for the Average calculations as well as Equi-Stat race statistics. 11. Anyone riding multiple horses in ANY class must write the name of each horse on their entry blank. When looking at the draw, they must ride the correct horse in each of their draw positions. If you run your horses in the wrong draw position, you may be disqualified from all runs in that class. 12. Roll-Time OPTION: If you are entering the Open 4D as well as any other class, you may choose to have your time in the Open 4D rolled to the second class. You MUST enter both classes before the Open 4D begins and indicate “YES” on your entry blanks by the appropriate Roll-Time option. It’s the responsibility of the rider to fill out the entry forms correctly. If nothing is designated & you fail to let the office know what class you wish to roll your time to, your time will NOT be rolled-over and you must run in both classes. WE ENCOURAGE ROLLS DUE TO THE SHEAR SIZE OF THIS RACE. 13. Any pre-entry with an insufficient funds check will be taken out of the draw & be ineligible to compete until it’s made right. A late entry may be put in their place or we will run it as a ghost rider and not count them in the payoff. If a pre-entry is a notified turn-out, we reserve the right to switch their draw position with a late entry if necessary. Returned Check Fee $30 / Re-issue Fee $10. 14. Office charges will be retained by office for ALL turnouts in the Open 4D. Vet and/or medical release for any pre-entries must be received in writing by SEPT 2 @ 6 PM. Vet and/or medical release for late-entry turnout must be presented in the entry office before the race starts. 15. OPEN 4D – Saturday & Sunday one run for $55, $1,500 Added. Monday $500 Added/$45 EF. 100% payback of Added Money and 75% payback of jackpotted entry fees. There will be a one-time $20 processing fee for the Open 4D only. 16. Approvals: WPRA Youth & Open; AW4D and SCBRA. 17. $2500 NOVICE RIDER and $1000 NOVICE HORSE - 1 run for $35. WE ASK FOR HONESTY WITH RESPECT TO YOUR STATUS AS A NOVICE AND TO YOUR HORSE’S LIFETIME EARNINGS. NO LATE FEES. 18. Youth 18 & Under 4D - 1 run for $35. Must be 18 or younger to enter. Enter at race with NO LATE FEES. 19. Senior 50 & OVER 4D - 1 run for $35. Must be at least 50 years of age to enter. Enter at race with NO LATE FEES. 20. Horses may enter each race only once, unless ridden by an immediate family member. A rider may enter multiple horses in any class. NO switching of draw positions and NO substitution of riders. 21. Big drags will be announced after total entries have been determined. 22. Entries for the Open 4D will close at runner #100. All other classes will close one class prior. Once entries close, there will be NO refunds for any reason because the payout is already determined. 23. INDOORS: You will enter and exit thru the same gate. The gates will remain closed during your run. You are expected to have complete control of your horse when you pass thru the finish line. 24. Failure to answer three gate calls in any class will result in a scratch. If you are present but having trouble getting your horse into the arena you will have a 60 second time limit to enter the arena or you will be disqualified, treated as a scratch, and asked to dismount and leave the entry area. Arena Director’s decision is FINAL. 25. NO training of horses allowed during competition. If you break the pattern, please circle the barrels only once and exit the arena. If the announcer asks you to leave the arena, please do so. 26. All reruns will be the decision of the Arena Director. Rerun will be on a fresh drag. Arena Director’s decisions are FINAL. A horse falling down will not receive a rerun. 27. If the electric eye malfunctions, you will be given the backup time from the 2nd electric eye. If both eyes fail, you will be given a rerun at the end of the race, top of the ground OR at the Arena Director’s discretion. Anyone damaging any of the electric eyes or stands will be held responsible for its replacement. 28. No harassing or threatening of show officials by a contestant or their traveling companions will be tolerated. Inappropriate behavior will result in disqualification and removal from the facility. All decisions by race management are final. Unsportsmanlike conduct, dishonesty, harassment or threatening behavior and/or animal abuse WILL NOT BE TOLERATED. 29. BEWARE!! Anyone found treating a horse in an abusive or inhumane manner in the arena or on the rodeo grounds may be disqualified and/or fined up to $100. In extreme cases, the producers retain the right to ask the person in question not to return to one of their barrel races. 30. No horses may be kept outside in pens or tied to trailers overnight. Arena POLICY. 31. We ask that you please clean your stalls before you leave if you are stalling here. There will be an extra $10 charge for each uncleaned stall because we must pay for the stalls to be cleaned. 32. HAUL-IN FEE: There will be no overnight or haul-in fees. In an effort to keep these fees waived, PLEASE do not clean out your horse trailer on the grounds except at designated areas at the ends of the barns. 33. The Average Champions in the Open 1D, 2D, 3D and 4D will be awarded beautiful custom awards. We will announce the winner of each D and ask you to be present for a buckle presentation photo. 34. The 1D average champion will be the contestant with the fastest combined times. The 2D champion will be determined by adding 1.5 seconds to the fastest combined time. The 3D Champion by adding 3 seconds to the fastest combined time. The 4D Champion by adding 4.5 seconds to the fastest combined time. The same horse/rider combination must be used for the average. It is the rider’s responsibility to make sure that his or her horse’s name is correct on the “official” posted draw sheets. If it is not correct, you must inform the entry office before the completion of the Open 4D in order to be eligible for awards. Awards will be given based on the current information at the conclusion of the Open 4D. 35. Average Champions in the $2500 Novice Rider, $1000 Novice Horse, Youth 4D and Senior 4D, will also each receive custom awards. We will announce the winners as soon as possible after the conclusion of each class. ALL AWARDS MUST BE PICKED UP OR ARRANGMENTS MADE IF YOU THINK YOU MIGHT BE WINNING SOMETHING BUT NEED TO LEAVE EARLY. 36. If you are interested in selling merchandise or professional services on the grounds please get permission from producer or sign a vendor agreement. 37. No Alcoholic Beverages per NPEC rules. 8. We are scheduled to race in the OUTDOOR stadium with ½, ½, ½ second splits. However, we reserve the right to move the races to the INDOOR arena based on arena conditions and/or weather forecast. If moved inside, splits will be ½, ½, ½ second. Contestants will receive a no-time for knocking over a barrel or breaking the pattern. Warm-Up: You can use the outside warm-up arenas to the south of the Indoor Arena. Please use only designated warm-up arenas out of respect for NPEC boarders. NO OPEN RIDING in the Outdoor Stadium or Indoor Arena for the duration of the event. 9. Shavings are required. 32. We ask that you please strip your stall clean of manure and shavings to the center of the barn before you leave.
